Reasons I Love Blogging!

There are many reasons why I’ve grown to love blogging. For one, the blogging community is very supportive. I just posted about how I was sick and so many of you commented and told me to get better and to focus on myself for a bit. Thanks so much for the love! I’m feeling a little better, and more motivated to write.

I love blogging because it’s a way for me to express myself and to get my thoughts out there. I’m semi anonymous on here, and by that I mean I haven’t really shared this blog with anyone I know personally, but I have made it personal. I write about my life, my feelings, and whatever comes to mind. But through it all, it’s me. This blog makes up a part of who I am. It’s been a journey these last few months just sharing myself with you all. Like I said, the amount of support I’ve received since I’ve started writing has been amazing. I never expected to gain so many followers, or so many loyal people who still keep up with reading my blog.

There’s a freedom that comes with blogging. You can make your blog however you choose to make it. Whether you want to focus on a specific theme, or multiple themes – it’s your blog! If you decide down the road to mix it up, well it’s your choice. You are the artist here, the creator of the blog. What you say goes. Be who you are, not who you think people are expecting you to be. Write about what you’re passionate about, and that’s how people learn about you as a person. I’ve seen new bloggers lose faith in their blog if they don’t gain followers right off the bat.

Let me tell you, gaining followers is an amazing feeling, but it should not be the main reason you write. Consistency is key. The more you write, the more you share, and the more you just keep it going – eventually, you’ll find people coming to your blog.

I feel very lucky with this blog. I started it a few years ago but was very sporadic and inconsistent with it. I think I posted maybe once or twice a year at times. And then I revived it back in August and when I did, I did it more as a way to just express myself and to basically get myself back into writing as a hobby. My first month, I realized I got more views because of how consistent I was with my posts. I didn’t have a lot of likes, but that was okay. Because I had gained a few loyal followers, and it was such an amazing feeling that people were actually reading my blog. It gave me inspiration and motivation to keep it up.

I love blogging. Mostly, I love how I can write and share anything on my blog. I don’t have to have a filter. Neither do I have to focus on just one topic. I like writing about whatever, and to keep my topics kind of random at times.

Blogging is what you make out of it, and I think the key is to just have fun with it, and don’t stress over it.

  1. thank you for the words of wisdom! I just started blogging but I love it — I’ve always loved writing but never really did anything with it. This is great encouragement to keep going!

  2. Well said. 🙂 It’s definitely good to be consistent too. I came across a couple blogs before that I almost followed, but then I saw they would go months without posting anything and then come back, then disappear again.

    1. It sucks seeing someone be so inconsistent with posts, because as a reader, you want to read more from this person. Posting once a week isn’t even bad, but once a month or once every few months makes it hard for people to keep following you. That’s how I started off with this blog, and I hardly had any followers when I restarted this blog lol.

  3. Lovely post! I’m a newbie and I’m loving having a creative place to share my thoughts and things I like. I love finding new blogs too and finding things in common with people I may have never spoken to otherwise (from different countries etc)
