One Thing I’ve Never Done That Most People Have…

There’s a lot of things I’ve never done that most people seem to have. I’ve never been on vacation, never been sledding, never broken a bone (despite how klutzy I am), never really traveled, never moved out or been on my own. The big one for me though, I think, is that I’ve never seen the ocean. Whenever I tell people this they’re always shocked. I guess most people eventually do because their families take them on vacation, or they go with friends. I never got the opportunity to.

I could make this post about how I feel I’ve never really gotten to do much, but at the same time, I’ve already been writing about that in previous posts. So instead, it’s a goal. It’s something I would like to change over the next year or so. I want to work towards doing these things one step at a time – if I’ve never done it, I want to try it. Or talk myself into trying it if it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.

The more I think about it, I am only 24, and no, I haven’t done a lot of things everyone else has, but that just means I still have a first time to look forward to. I’m still young, I’ve got time. I know life is short, and I feel like I’ve been stuck for a very long time, but things are going to change eventually. And I want to make everything happen that I can.

  1. I hope you get to do everything you want! There’s still so much I’m yet to do which a lot of people seems to have already accomplished… We’re still young! There’s still time! We do things at our own time and when we’re ready to do them =)

  2. Great post! And you are right: you are still very young and have a lot of time to do the things you want. One of the best parts of life is having a list of things we’d like to do, and then setting out to do them. Imagine living a life where there was nothing to look forward to! Enjoy your list of goals and the journey towards them.

  3. There are a lot of people much older who are still not living their best life. You are identifying the things that you want to experience as part of living your best life, and that’s so great. I’m excited to see this happen for you.

  4. I’ve never broken a bone either, nor have I been out on my own (and I’m 29!). The ocean is my favorite though, even if I don’t get to see it that often. I hope one day you get to experience it because it is truly relaxing and beautiful. There’s nothing else like it.
