Oh gosh, I’m not sure where to even start with this one. Mostly because I’m not overly obsessing over anything at the moment, so that’s a disappointment. Even the show I’m currently watching is Smallville and the only reason I’m watching it is for the nostalgia factor. I’m also waiting for Stranger Things season 2 to air on Netflix, just a few more days.
So here are a few things, at least, that I may be slightly obsessing over:
1.) Trying new beers
Working at a place that sells beer, I see new beers all the time, and we get the option to mix pick a 6 pack out of singles (which I make the singles). So I do that often when there’s a few beers that look or sound interesting enough to try. Everything seasonal I’ve tried and liked is already sold out now, though, so that makes me sad. There’s this coffee pumpkin flavor by Southern Tier that I tried (it’s $16.50 for a 4 pack, real expensive stuff), but I loved it! It’s saying a lot coming from a girl who used to drink nothing but Angry Orchard. I’m waiting for more of these winter beers to come in, and then I may even do a mix pick review. It makes me feel adult-like to drink all these different craft beers.
2.) My costumes for this weekend
So on Friday, Ray is taking me to this mixer that his frat is having (he’s in an academic frat), and it’s a costume party. We spent the greater half of the month having no idea what to do for costumes, but I guess a lot of the guys are going as DC Comic book characters, so he decided to go as the Riddler from Batman. Since he’s going as that, and I don’t really know that many characters in the DC universe or Batman universe, I decided to go as Poison Ivy. So the last couple weeks I’ve been ordering things online for my costume (probably overspent on money, but I can’t remember the last time I even dressed up as anything for Halloween, I really can’t).
I bought a bright red wig, and this handmade costume I found off of eBay. I wanted to be a little original, and once I saw the costume I had to have it. The drawback, is it’s labelled as a S/M, and the skirt is actually the S/M. They did say in the info the corset for this costume was a small, and it’s a tad tight on me. Then again, it’s a corset, so it’s supposed to be tight, right? I tried it on the day it arrived, and it took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to get it on myself, and even then it was a struggle. So… Ray is going to have to help tighten me up. But it’s actually a really cute costume, I’m excited. It also came with a clip on piece to put in my hair.
I bought some glovettes to go along with it, too, and I figured I could stick to basic black tights. The rest would have to be up to me to figure out my make-up (which I bought some green eye shadow, too). And I figured I could wear one of my black heels with it. But I’m excited, I think it’s going to look good, but I’m nervous, too. Ray and I are going to both be a lot of green, I think we’ll complement each other.
The other costume I have is a dress I’m wearing to his Twin Peaks themed party. Well, not really themed, he’s just going as someone from the show, and so is his roommate. It’s just Halloween themed, but I wanted to match him. So I’m not really going as a character, just going with the theme. And I love this dress I got for it. I originally ordered this skirt (off Etsy) that was shipping from Hong Kong, and it said it could take 7-17 business days and I just got it yesterday (ordered it at the end of September). I actually wish I hadn’t ordered the skirt, because I found the dress (off of Etsy) and loved it. It also gives me an excuse to dress nice!
There’s this necklace I also got (off of Etsy), to go along with the theme. So I’m pretty excited to have a chance to wear everything. Plus, I wanted an excuse to look nice for Ray. It’s been awhile.
I’m not really sure what else I’m really obsessing over at the moment, especially since I’ve talked about my interests lately, so it feels a tad redundant. The main thing I’m obsessing over is getting to this weekend. I can not wait until Friday after work when I can finally see him. It’s been almost two months, these next few days are just begging to be over. This weekend is going to be so much fun!
