I’m failing myself a bit by doing this, but tonight’s theme was “night sky,” and as much as I would love to take photos of the sky, I wasn’t thinking when I set this challenge. It’s Friday night and Homecoming weekend, so there’s people everywhere. This is an excuse, but I’m so tired and I would rather wait for a night where the moon is out to try for nighttime photos anyways. I’ve never shot the sky at night, but I’ve been itching to practice long exposures.
Last night, I went to bed around 11 p.m. Around 2 a.m., I got woken up by this guy driving down the road, blaring his music obnoxiously loud, and then parking somewhere near my window. He had some sort of speaker phone or radio because he was telling everyone to have a block party. At 2 a.m. Outside my bedroom window. I had an eye doctor’s appointment at 8 a.m. Luckily, the cops were on it and showed up about 10-15 minutes later, but it didn’t stop my sleep from being ruined.
I woke up around 6:30 a.m., went to my eye doctor’s appointment, and then worked from 10:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. I went to give this photo challenge a try, and then gave up when I just saw groups and groups of people just walking down the sidewalk. One after another. I’m tired anyways, and I’m hoping I can zonk myself out. I hate big stupid college weekends – everyone acts like an idiot. This is where I hate living in town, because if you do, you can’t escape them. While the ruckus isn’t as awful as what it was at our old place, it’s still loud and obnoxious. The thumping of the bass of a stereo, people yelling, screaming, talking. I’m over it.
Night time sky photos are something that I really want to do, so I’m going to make this challenge happen, just not tonight. I think I’m going to skip it and pass it along to another night. I’ll do two challenges in one night. But I will do everything that is on the list I gave myself. Tomorrow is “Plastic,” and while I’m not sure what I’ll do yet for it, I’ll figure something out.
I want to try to challenge myself with these words, too, and try to make myself think outside the box and get creative. So far I’ve been pretty basic. So we will see.
No photo tonight, but here is another post of me rambling on because I’m tired and can barely keep my eyes open, but it’s too noisy to try to sleep. The music is getting louder, people’s voices are carrying over. Even when I was in college I hated these weekends. Too many people. Everyone acting like imbeciles. Get me out of this college town, please.
